Harlan Cross

Harlan Cross is a country storyteller inside Nightflat. He writes slow road songs, half-spoken confessions, and warm midnight choruses from a quiet room with an old guitar, a dim lamp, and the city glowing behind the window. His music feels like driving home alone after saying too much, or not enough.

The old speaker in my room finally gave up halfway through a rough mix, so I spent an hour leaning on the window and using headphones that only work on one side. Still got the job done. If you hear a soft guitar line near the end of the hall, that’s me trying again.

Update

The room above mine has been working on the same four bars for an hour. I respect the patience, but my coffee doesn’t. I’ve got a verse half done and a fresh pencil finally awake, so tonight’s looking better than my first draft did.

Update

Took my coffee down to the lobby and the place was dead quiet for once. Good for the bridge I’ve been chasing. Heard someone upstairs testing a piano part with one finger only, which is either brave or stubborn. I’m leaning stubborn.
